Hewitt’s purpose is simple: “To feed the world with a system that lasts forever”.

We do this through our innovative approach to growing beef cattle. Whether it’s our regenerative organic practices, the welfare of our animals or the breeding capabilities of our herds, these initiatives support our vision of becoming the world’s most influential meat producer.

With 100,000+ cattle across 2.25 million hectares of diverse Australian land under our stewardship, we have a unique, vertically integrated supply chain that can produce the most consistent, high quality and high-claims red meat in the world.

Since establishing our first family farm in 1929 in Queensland, Australia, we have been guided by a simple philosophy: treat animals well, treat people well and treat the land well.

Hewitt Cattle was founded in 1987 and today, brothers Mick and Ben Hewitt lead a sophisticated global joint venture enterprise while maintaining the Hewitt family culture.

We now have a herd of over 100,000 head in a variety of grazing environments, where we are focussed on growing high quality, improved and natural pastures. Progeny from this herd have been purpose‑bred to produce quality organic and grass fed, high claims beef.

The genetics of these cattle, as found in this catalogue, also assist us to continually improve production efficiency and product quality.

Strong global growth has been achieved with a combination of organic expansion, asset development, strategic acquisitions, and investment in systems and technology. Supply chain investment has given us the ability to control the full length of the supply chain, from breeding through to finishing and ultimately the end‑customer.

We currently serve six markets, including the USA and Asia, thanks partly to extensive long‑term partnerships across Australia and USA, and around 50% global exportation of production.

Hewitt is now one of the world’s largest suppliers of organic and natural red meat, with a fully integrated ecosystem spanning livestock production through to branded retail‑ready products.
